Savoy
The vineyards of Savoie, located in the heart of the French Alps, are distinguished by a unique terroir of steep slopes, cool microclimates and varied soils, from clay-limestone to alpine scree. The region produces an average of 112,000 hectolitres a year. Its fresh wines are often little-known, but are gaining in popularity thanks to their authentic character and autochthonous grape varieties. Among the leading estates, Domaine des Orchis is renowned for its elegant white wines, mainly from the Altesse grape variety. Gilles Berlioz, a leading figure in organic viticulture in Savoie, stands out for his lively wines appreciated by connoisseurs. Les 13 Lunes and Les Fils de Charles Trosset promote the region's typical grape varieties, such as Mondeuse, Jacquère and Chignin-Bergeron. Maison Bonnard, meanwhile, perpetuates age-old know-how by producing cuvées that combine tradition and modernity. These winemakers, passionate about their terroir, combine tradition and innovation to offer wines of exceptional finesse, rich in minerality and freshness, fully reflecting Savoie's mountain identity.
