Les Volets Rouges

Domaine Les Volets Rouges is a young winery located in Fleurie, one of the emblematic crus of Beaujolais . Founded in December 2022 by Antoine and Marie, the estate covers 4.11 hectares divided into eight separate plots, mainly planted with old Gamay vines, some of them centuries old, on steep hillsides with decomposed pink granite and sand soils , typical of the Fleurie terroir. Committed to environmentally friendly viticulture, Antoine and Marie practice organic and biodynamic agriculture , currently in their third year of conversion. The harvest is carried out manually, and the vinification is done without the addition of sulfites, favoring the use of concrete, stainless steel and concrete ovoid vats to preserve the purity and expression of the terroir. The estate's first harvest took place in 2023, producing natural, fresh, and fruity wines aged in concrete vats and old demi-muids. Their minimalist approach in the cellar, with little or no added sulfites, aims to produce lively and authentic wines that faithfully reflect the character of Gamay and the Fleurie terroir.
