Cyril Fhal
Based in the Roussillon region, in the heart of the steep slopes of Latour-de-France, Cyril Fhal is a passionate winemaker, renowned for his rigorous, respectful approach to terroir. After starting out in the Loire Valley, he moved to this sunny region where he founded Clos du Rouge Gorge. From the outset, Cyril opted for organic and biodynamic viticulture, banning chemicals and working in harmony with nature.
The vines, planted mainly with Carignan and Grenache, thrive on schist and marl soils, offering low yields but exceptional quality. In the cellar, Cyril Fhal follows the natural wine trend: fermentation is spontaneous, without the addition of yeast, and the use of sulfur is strictly limited or non-existent.
Clos du Rouge Gorge wines are appreciated for their finesse and precision. In contrast to the often more powerful styles of the region, Cyril's cuvées are distinguished by their elegance, freshness and beautiful mineral expression, authentic reflections of the terroir. The meticulous work he carries out both in the vineyard and in the cellar has earned his wines a reputation for excellence, attracting natural wine enthusiasts from all over the world.
