Muriel Giudicelli

Muriel Giudicelli, head of Domaine Giudicelli, produces exceptional wines on twelve hectares, mainly in the Patrimonio and Muscat du Cap Corse appellations. Located in Poggio d'Oletta, in the hinterland of Saint-Florent, the estate was taken over by Muriel and her husband Stéphane in the late 1990s. The estate is cultivated biodynamically and is Demeter-certified, excluding the use of pesticides or herbicides. The vines, influenced by the varied terroirs of the Cap Corse, Agriates and Sant'Angelo mountains, are tended according to the lunar calendar and protected by natural decoctions. The grapes are harvested by hand and vinified using indigenous yeasts, without the addition of any oenological products, with the exception of a little sulfur. Inspired by winemakers such as Jean Boxler for white wines and Maria-Teresa Mascarello for reds, Muriel Giudicelli has adopted winemaking methods that lend finesse and personality to her wines. The white wines are directly pressed slowly, while the reds undergo “infused” maceration and long maturation in stainless steel vats and Stockinger tuns, lasting 18 to 22 months depending on the vintage. The estate's white wines are distinguished by their precision, finesse, elegance and purity. The red wines, meanwhile, are appreciated for their bright fruit and refined texture. The complexity of our wines stems in part from the diversity of local terroirs and grape varieties, meticulously cultivated and vinified.
