La Sœur Cadette
Domaine de La Soeur Cadette is based in Vézelay, in northern Burgundy's Yonne region. Created in 1987, the estate is now run organically by Valentin Montanet. Today, the estate covers some twenty hectares. The grapes are harvested by hand.
In the winery, interventions are kept to a strict minimum. Wines are not yeasted or chaptalized, and sulfites are used sparingly. The wines are often aged in vats on lees, sometimes in barrels.
Valentin's wines are regular, straightforward and precise. They are a delight for lovers of clean, uncluttered Burgundian Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
Valentin has also set up a wine merchant's where he vinifies Melon de Bourgogne, Gamay and other grape varieties, depending on the vintage...
