Christian Rouchier
Christian Rouchier's estate is located in the Saint-Joseph appellation and has been in existence since 2007. Christian Rouchier, who comes from a farming family, first ran a mixed farming operation before buying his first 1.5 hectares of vines. In 2010, he adopted organic farming, with horse-drawn ploughing. Initially, Christian sold his grapes to the wine trade, but in 2013, he decided to vinify his own production. He also plants new vines of Viognier and Marsanne, and continues to work with Syrah. Committed to agroforestry, he minimizes tillage and plants hedges and trees to maintain biodiversity. The reds are vinified using whole grapes, while the whites are direct-pressed and aged in oak barrels. The estate's red wines are distinguished by fine tannins, florality and pronounced black fruits. The whites are aromatic, with a fine salinity on the finish.
