Julien Vedel
Julien Vedel heads up a small 2,000 m² estate of very old Chenin Blanc vines, located on the first slopes of the Vouvray appellation. His winegrowing adventure began in 2011 when he took over 0.2 hectares of vines from a friend. Trained in viticulture and oenology, Julien has acquired solid experience working in various estates, notably in Vouvray and in Hungary, at the prestigious Domaine Foreau. Julien Vedel cultivates his vines according to biodynamic principles, aligning his practices with the lunar calendar. The vines, over a hundred years old, had already been organically farmed for over ten years before he took them over. This method of cultivation, respectful of the terroir, enables Julien to produce wines of exceptional quality. Julien Vedel's production is limited to around three barrels of wine a year, reflecting his meticulous, natural approach. His Vouvray is recognized as one of the best expressions of the appellation, although his cuvée is confidential. Julien Vedel's wines perfectly capture the specificities of the terroir and are highly sought-after by wine lovers. Julien Vedel is considered a true winemaking artist. His small production of Vouvray is appreciated for its finesse and respect for terroir. His rigorous training and commitment to organic and biodynamic practices make his wines rare, authentic treasures. Julien Vedel uses cultivation methods that promote biodiversity and soil health, contributing to the superior quality of his wines. Every bottle produced by Julien Vedel reflects his dedication to the art of viticulture and the preservation of terroir. His meticulous respect for natural cycles makes his wines outstanding examples of what the Vouvray region has to offer.
