Bourgeois-Diaz
Born in 1977, Jérôme Bourgeois-Diaz is the worthy representative of the fourth generation of winegrowers on his father's side. And since tradition is in his blood, he felt the need to surpass it. His maternal Spanish origins pushed him to embark on a different path from that of his colleagues. His wife Charlotte , joined the estate in 2016, and today plays an important role, supervising the estate, and helping to develop the quality of the Champagnes . “From our 6.80 hectares of vines, 3.5 hectares are planted with Pinot Meunier , 2 with Pinot Noir and 1.3 with Chardonnay . Our vines are 40 years old on average, and draw their vitality from their clay and chalky soils .”
Pesticide-free since 2009 and certified organic and biodynamic since 2014, Jérôme's mantra is to let the wine express itself at its own pace.
At the estate, nature is at its helm, and Jérôme wants to be at its service. He thus willingly accepts the vacillations of the seasons, he gradually learns humility.
Champagne Bourgeois Diaz has been producing six champagnes and one red wine on the Champagne hillside since 2018. The majority of the champagnes age between two and three years in the bottle, the vintage for more than five years. We obviously find the classic blends in BD3C, the different blanc de noirs (BDN) and blanc de meuniers ( BDM ). A blanc de blancs with BDB . But also rarer and more confidential expressions of exceptional vintages such as in Les Justice and Les Bien Aimées.
