Le Domaine d'Edouard
Nestled in the heart of the Côtes d'Auxerre , Domaine d'Édouard embodies Édouard Lepesme 's passion and dedication to the art of wine. With experience in wine marketing and training at the prestigious Beaune wine school, Édouard acquired valuable know-how from several renowned winemakers including Alice and Olivier de Moor and Claire Naudin before taking over the reins of 13 hectares of dormant vines in 2014.
Sensitive to the exceptional potential of this terroir, Édouard quickly implemented his vision, converting the estate to certified organic viticulture in the early 2000s. Noble grape varieties such as Pinot Noir , Chardonnay , Aligoté , Gamay and César reveal their full character here, offering fine, fruity wines of exemplary consistency.
In the vineyards of Domaine d'Édouard , the vines flourish on two distinct hillsides, each imbued with its own terroir. On the northern slope, the Jurassic and Cretaceous soils give the wines a unique mineral richness, while the southern slope, more calcareous and facing due east, reveals the purity and finesse of the grapes bathed in the morning light.
The estate's wines reveal all the finesse and authenticity of the Côtes d'Auxerre terroirs.
With a planted area of 14.5 hectares , divided equally between red and white grape varieties, Domaine d'Édouard produces around 50,000 bottles per year, each reflecting the talent and passion of a winemaker dedicated to excellence and respect for nature.
