Domaine Dame-Jeanne
Jeanne Moreau created the micro Domaine Dame Jeanne in 2017. Daughter of Dominique Moreau - Champagne Marie Courtin - and Robert Piollot - Champagne Piollot - Jeanne has always been immersed in vines and wine. She studied at the Beaune wine school, then settled on this 2.30 hectare plot located in Châtillonnais .
For her, organic and biodynamic farming was a no-brainer. Both her parents are among the pioneers of this movement in Champagne . Needless to say, no chemicals are used in the vineyards or in the cellar.
The wines of Domaine Dame Jeanne claim the appellation Burgundy hillsides : Châtillonnais is on the border of Champagne and Burgundy. The terroirs there are mainly limestone with some red marl . Jeanne mainly cultivates Chardonnay , Gamay and Pinot Noir there . produces delicious still wines, but of course also some bubbles in natural sparkling wine and in the Champagne method . The Alchémille cuvée is a perfect example of Jeanne's style: a still Chardonnay , halfway between a Chablis and a Côteau Champenois .
An area to follow, between Champagne and Burgundy , for all lovers of natural wines .
