Champagne Mouzon-Leroux
Raphaël and Vincent Bérêche are the guardians of this fine family business on the Montagne de Reims. Founded in 1847, the estate is located in Ludes, in the north-west of the Montagne de Reims. Vincent is in charge of the vineyards, while Raphaël works in the cellars. The vineyards are planted mainly with Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. The two brothers' primary aim is to maintain a close relationship with their vines, the starting point for their wines. The land is ploughed and partially grassed to regulate the vigour of the vines. Good management of the plant cover allows them to do without all the synthetic chemical products that are unfortunately still too common in Champagne. The soil is a major concern for the Bérêche family, who fertilise it organically. There are no systematic treatments on the estate, and interventions are targeted and measured out. In the cellar, the vinification process is as gentle as possible, thanks to two ingredients: patience and time. Today, the house's champagnes can be found on the finest tables, and the names Le Cran, Rive Gauche, Mailly and Campania Remensis will make the mouths of even the most discerning Champagne lovers water.
