Sainte Madeleine
Domaine Saint-Madeleine is located in Tharoiseau , and produces wines in the Vézelay appellation . Alexandre and Blandine Le Corguillé founded the estate in 2020, they are both agronomists and oenologists . In 2016, they purchased 4 hectares of a south-east facing hillside where they were able to start planting 1 hectare of Chardonnay . They were subsequently able to acquire several plots in the surrounding area, including the Saulniers plot in the commune of Saint-Père .
The estate's vines are managed organically . The couple is very attentive to the plant material and obtains its supplies in Savoie from a producer who also supplies Domaine Raveneau with Chardonnay plants . The harvest is manual, the grapes are sorted before being pressed in whole bunches. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentations are done naturally . The aging is done in stainless steel vats. A little SO2 is added at bottling.
The cellar is temporarily installed at La Soeur Cadette , while waiting to find one.
We were won over by the precision and freshness of the estate's whites and can't wait to follow its development!
